About Abigail
Abigail joined the Family team at Horsey Lightly in February 2024 and assists Alison Whistler and Paola Cuffolo in the department. Having initially worked in civil litigation, Abigail has a particular interest in the differences between civil and family law, especially before and during court proceedings. Abigail’s support of Alison’s and Paola’s day-to-day work includes:
- Dealing with clients' enquiries
- Assisting with the issue of divorce proceedings
- Preparing change of name deeds
- Working with clients to put together financial disclosure and Form Es
- Preparing court bundles and briefs to counsel (instructions to barristers for court proceedings)
- Attending court
Abigail’s career
Abigail completed her LLB at the University of Portsmouth completing the CILEX course as part of her degree. She successfully qualified as a Fellow of the Charted Institute of Legal Executives in 2024.
Life beyond the office
When Abigail is not at work, she enjoys cooking, baking, walking, reading, physical activities such as badminton and Netball and spending time with family and friends.
